Amelia Lowe has been studying ballet, pointe, modern and contemporary dance through her training years with teachers such as: Nancy Turano, Sidra Bell, Ruth Clark, Randy James, Jason Luks, Mark Burrell, Jaclyn Walsh, Yuliya Akopyan, Elaine Kudo and Andrey Shahkin. She has trained with: The Dance Academy of North Jersey (2010-12), Jacob's Pillow Contemporary Program (2011); Complexions Winter Intensive (2010); Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive (2008); and Amber Perkins School of the Arts Modern Intensive (2008). Amelia's choreography has been recognized in numerous dance competitions, including the following pieces: Mockingbird, The Jabberwocky, Little Romance, You've Got the Love, Envy; Down the Rabbit Hole; Odile; and Void. As a competition dancer at The Dance Academy of North Jersey, Amelia performed in several award winning group pieces including Princess Tango (Mark Burrell), Strings (Jaclyn Walsh), Grapevine (Jason Luks), Tibet (Joelle Cosentino and Amber Perkins) and I Had A Pearl (Chaz Buzan). Amelia is a recent graduate (June 2012) from the Morris County Vocational School - Academy for Visual and Performing Arts. She is also a faculty member and choreographer at The Dance Academy of North Jersey where she taught the Mini Team Ballet, rehearsed the Mini Team's award winning "My Pocketbook" piece, and choreographed a trio and several solos.
