Douglas, Alaska hosted the world premiere in May 2003. The down to earth drama is set in San Pedro, California. Walter Griffin once managed to float above the earth in a lawn chair suspended from weather balloons, achieving 15 minutes of fame and an offer from the Smithsonian for the chair. Sixteen years later, Walter is still tinkering with ideas for inventions that will help him become airborne again and has imaginary conversations with French wire walker Philippe Petit. Walter's 16-year-old son, Mikey, languishes, and his wife, Helen, dutifully supports the family as a postal worker. It is a fascinating and affecting look into a dysfunctional California family.

The puppets issue mysterious warnings of trouble. Easily recognizable villains, heroes and heroines from children's literature, who mistake them for Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, surround the boys. Unable to escape, they undergo a farcical trial in which they fail to prove they aren't Tom and Huck. Longing for home, they accept their fates. They are saved in a challenge, which proves their true identities. And, they are discovered to be the heroes of a brand new story being written at this very moment! Also featured will be Haunted Houses: On a summer night four friends enter the abandoned, dark mansion that overlooks their town. Once inside, their imaginations and their fears guide them to the phantoms of their minds.
